As recruiters we know there is more to each candidate than just a resume and a set of skills. The problem is that we’re often trained to ONLY look at these aspects of a person.
Think about it… When a new hire fails, rarely does it have to do with skill.
To truly understand the whole candidate and make the right hires, we must understand the head, heart AND skillset of each candidate.
The head is all about a person’s behaviors, how they are wired to operate and communicate. It’s also about their cognitive ability, their capacity to problem-solve and comprehend complex ideas and situations.
The heart is all about a person’s motivations, what’s most important to them. It ties into a person’s purpose, it’s the why behind everything that they do.
We need to consider these aspects in equal measure as we would skills. So how do we dive deeper into a candidate’s head, heart, and skillset? We need to use the Core 4™.
